Where you will work
SURF is the IT cooperative for Dutch educational and research institutions. Together with them, we work on digital services and complex innovation challenges to enhance the quality of education and research. As Service Owner Communities & Portals, you will contribute strongly to the collaboration between these institutions.
The team you will join
You will work in the Information Management team, which is part of Internal Services. In this team, we work together with all SURF departments and clients to provide our services as appropriately and efficiently as possible. Your colleagues consist of 3 information managers and 9 service owners who provide applications in different domains.
Information Management is a curious, informal and results-oriented team that works with all SURF departments. You can usually find us in Utrecht and we meet monthly for team lunches provided by SURF. And you will definitely find us at game nights, but also at the running events organized by SURF and at every party!
What you will do
As Service Owner Communities & Portals, you will be functionally and financially responsible for three internal services. These services are: the my.surf.nl portal where institutions can order our services, the service desk environments through which we stay in touch with our institutions and the community portals through which institutions communicate, discuss and collaborate among themselves.
What else will you do?
- Together with colleagues from SURF, you will develop features and refine existing interfaces.
- You will also enthuse them to get started.
- You will create and implement business models, business cases and roadmaps for the services.
- You draw up budgets and report on them. You also ensure that the services and developments fit into the target architecture and the standard frameworks for sustainability, privacy and security.
- You manage (external) developers and cooperate with them.
- You actively manage stakeholders and communicate just as easily with engineers as with IT management.
Your skills and experience
- You have hbo or wo working and thinking level.
- You have experience or affinity with product management of a web application.
- You have experience with customer satisfaction research and usability.
- You have experience with Agile working.
- You also have an affinity with shaping and securing service management processes.
- You have experience in representing the interests of various stakeholders; in addition, you have experience in providing IT services.
- You are service- and customer-oriented and have a good feeling for political relations.
- You have good spoken and written communication skills in Dutch and English.
