Where you will work
SURF is the ICT cooperative for Dutch educational and research institutions. Together with them, we work on digital services and complex innovation challenges to enhance the quality of education and research. Our Education Services department helps educational institutions use technology to future-proof education. We offer services around digital learning materials, flexible education and educational data exchange. As product manager student mobility, you will contribute strongly to this.
The team you will join
You will be part of team Flexible Education. With digitisation and ICT services, this team contributes to making the process of orientation, enrolment, and following and certifying educational programmes and individual subjects more flexible. To this end, we develop and deliver various services to educational institutions. The team consists of ten driven professionals with a passion for ICT and education. We operate on the cutting edge of innovation and service provision. The team is part of the Education Services department, a dynamic fast-growing department within SURF. We have an open culture and everyone is always open to consultation (physical/remote) for work and less work-related matters. In addition, we expect you to work independently. Team Flexible Education consists of several product teams, each of which has its own way of working. There is a broad team meeting every six weeks.
What you will do
You are responsible for the successful further development of the eduXchange platform. To this end, you will coordinate strategically, tactically and operationally with various stakeholders at institutions. You also consult with developers, the student mobility project leader, fellow product managers and technical product managers. You write business models, draw up business cases and ensure that the services meet all quality requirements. You successfully take the platform into production, you connect (new alliances of) institutions and you draw up and implement the roadmap. And what makes it even more fun: there is also a lot of international interest.
What else will you deal with
- Keeping SURF's lifecycle and portfolio management process in mind, you will take all necessary steps to realise services. To do so, you follow the established process.
- You collaborate intensively with fellow product managers, technical product managers, project leaders, domain specialists and other stakeholders from various educational institutions.
- You bring together services and technologies in the field of student mobility within a logically coherent proposition.
- You continuously coordinate the roadmap for further development of services and software with customers and end users.
- As product manager, you are also responsible for the Kies op Maat service and, together with the student mobility project leader, you link both solutions (technically).
Your skills and experience
- You have hbo/wo working and thinking level and 5- 8 years of relevant work experience, preferably as a product manager or product owner.
- You have experience in coordinating software and/or (digital) service development in complex environments.
- You are experienced in providing ICT services to organisations, preferably educational institutions. You also know how to smoothly translate the wishes and needs of users into new functionalities and concrete actions.
- You have experience with processes and tools for product management and the Business Model Canvas.
- You have a firm grip on the steering wheel, you accelerate and decelerate and you confidently set course for what we as an organisation stand for. You have a strong character, up-to-date knowledge of ICT and education and demonstrable experience with various ICT services.
- You have and maintain an overview in a complex playing field. You focus on broad internal and external cooperation and are service and customer-oriented in everything. You have a feel for political relations and express yourself well in Dutch and English, both orally and in writing.
- You have knowledge of the ISO 27001 certification process.
