Where you will work
SURF is the IT cooperative for Dutch educational and research institutions. Together with them, we work on digital services and complex innovation challenges to enhance the quality of education and research.
The team you will join
You’ll be part of the SURFeduhub product team, which operates under the Flexible Education team. This team develops and manages services that help institutions offer, enroll in, deliver, and recognize flexible learning. SURFeduhub plays a central role in this ecosystem.

As a Junior Technical Product Manager, you’ll be part of a dynamic team that includes a Product Manager, two Technical Product Managers, and a flexible pool of developers and operations engineers.
What you will do
You’ll help ensure that the SURFeduhub platform runs reliably and continues to evolve. You’ll be involved in day-to-day operations as well as shaping future developments. Collaboration with developers, engineers, and fellow product managers will be essential.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Managing and monitoring the SURFeduhub platform and its infrastructure.
- Providing support to partner organizations and institutions.
- Analyzing and resolving technical issues related to data exchange and integrations.
- Contributing to the design and development of new features and use cases.
- Structuring the backlog and coordinating external developers.
- Building support tools for testing and quality control.
Your skills and experience
You are a curious and analytical IT professional who thrives on technical challenges and teamwork. You like being hands-on and have a good grasp of both the technology and the user perspective.
We’re looking for someone who has:
- At least 3 years of relevant work experience.
- A strong interest in software development and data integration.
- Strong analytical skills and a structured approach to work.
- Knowledge of at least one programming or scripting language.
- Experience with Linux environments and open-source tools.
- The ability to clearly explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Experience with Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with Privacy by Design and Security by Design principles is a bonus, but not required.
