SURF is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner who can make a difference in the areas of occupational health and sustainable employability. With your strategic vision and persuasiveness, you will help SURF keep its employees healthy, motivated and employable, now and in the future.
Where you will work
SURF is the ICT cooperative of Dutch education and research institutions. Together with them, we work on digital services and complex innovation issues to improve the quality of education and research. As a strategic HR Business Partner, you contribute to an organization where employees remain employable in the long term and can do their work safely, healthily, and enjoyably.
The team you will join
SURF's HR team consists of an HR manager, three HR Business Partners, four HR staff members, a recruiter, and two trainees. We are a diverse team: from young and dynamic to experienced and stable. Everyone has an accessible and open attitude.
SURF is growing, which means we are on the eve of a major organizational change. For the HR discipline, this means that the (re)organization of the HR team is a key priority. Due to the departure of one of the HR Business Partners, a vacancy has arisen.
What you will do
As an HR Business Partner, you advise and support management and employees on various HR topics, with a strong focus on occupational health and safety, vitality, and sustainable employability in this position.
You develop policies and interventions that contribute to absenteeism prevention, a healthy work culture, and long-term employability of employees.
You will contribute strategically to organizational development and personnel planning, with an eye for future skills and employability.
You will ensure that HR policy not only complies with laws and regulations, but also enhances the well-being and job satisfaction of employees.
What else you are involved in
- You advise the board/management and executives on HR topics such as vitality, performance management, and talent development.
- You develop a strategic workforce planning and supervise its translation into teams and positions.
- You supervise complex case studies and labor law issues, including absenteeism and reintegration processes, labor disputes, and poor performance.
Your skills and experience
- You are an experienced and strategically minded HR professional with strong analytical skills. You know how to advise management and employees in a constructive manner and are able to guide complex HR issues.
- You have several years of experience as an HR Business Partner, senior HR advisor, or in a similar strategic HR role.
- You have demonstrable experience with occupational health and safety policy and sustainable employability.
- You have a bachelor's degree in HRM, Labor & Organizational Psychology, Business Administration, or a similar field.
- You can align HR strategies with business objectives to increase the organization's success.
- You have excellent communication skills and the ability to switch between different levels, establish good contacts with stakeholders, and influence key decision-makers.
- You have broad knowledge of the HR field, HR processes, and industry-related knowledge. You feel at home in HR within professional environments and can switch effortlessly between different organizational cultures.
- You have an excellent command of both Dutch and English.
