Would you like to put SURF's innovative services and products in the spotlight? Can you also ensure fast and clear communication with educational institutions about the services? Where you will work

SURF is the ICT cooperative of Dutch educational and research institutions. Together with them, we work on digital services and complex innovation issues to improve the quality of education and research. As a Communities & Portals Service Owner, you will make a significant contribution to the collaboration between these institutions.

The team you will join

You will be working in the Information Management team, which is part of Internal Services. In this team, we work together with all SURF departments and with customers to offer our services in the most appropriate and efficient way possible. Your colleagues consist of three information managers and nine service owners who offer applications in various domains.

Information Management is a curious, informal and results-oriented team that works with all departments at SURF. We are usually based in Utrecht and meet monthly for team lunches organised by SURF. You will definitely find us at game nights, but also at the sporting events organised by SURF and at every party!

What you will do

As a Communities & Portals Service Manager, you are functionally and financially responsible for an important internal service: the mijn.surf.nl portal where institutions can order our services and the underlying order management process.

Other tasks you will handle

• Together with colleagues from SURF, you will develop features and refine existing interfaces. You will also encourage them to get started with these.
• You will create business models, business cases and roadmaps for the service and implement them.
• You will draw up budgets and report on them. In addition, you will ensure that the services and developments fit in with the target architecture and the standards frameworks for sustainability, privacy and security.
• You will manage (external) developers and work with them.
• You will actively manage stakeholders and interact just as easily with engineers as with ICT management.

Your skills and experience

• You have a higher professional education (HBO) or university education (WO) level of working and thinking.
• You have experience with or affinity for product management of a web application.
• You have experience with customer satisfaction surveys and user-friendliness.
• You have experience with Agile working methods. You also have an affinity with designing and safeguarding service management processes.
• You have experience in representing the interests of various stakeholders; you also have experience in providing ICT services.
• You are service- and customer-oriented and have a good sense of political relations.
• You have good verbal and written communication skills in Dutch and English.
