ApplyAs a business controller, you are the financial sparring partner of the business. You provide insight, analyse and advise the business. Your challenge is to keep the organisation on its toes from a business perspective. Interested? We would be happy to talk.
Where you will work
SURF is a cooperative. We work for and together with our members: Dutch research and educational institutions. We work on digital services and complex innovation issues, thus improving the quality of education and research.
We work with both public and private business models. SURF has the characteristics of a commercial company and a public organisation. In terms of content, we are an IT service provider and we are important in innovation, for example because we are setting up a large Dutch AI facility and conducting research with a quantum computer. Finally, we are an association for our members.
The team you will join
The Planning & Control team has 9 colleagues and is SURF's financial conscience. We are the critical business partner. This is how we influence policy and strategy formation. We support the board and management in their implementation and provide advice (both solicited and unsolicited) on the use and management of resources as part of the P&C cycle. We also advise on the organisation of (financial) processes and the preparation of business cases.
Our team has recently grown to further strengthen business control within SURF. We are enthusiastic and value good mutual cooperation within and outside the team. We keep each other on our toes in a good atmosphere. Most colleagues are part of an MT, one colleague is involved in BI development and one colleague focuses on managing subsidy flows. From this team, we make a major contribution to the continued growth of SURF.
