Communitymanager Privacy
ApplySURF is looking for a community manager for the Privacy theme. Do you want to work with experts at institutions to further professionalise the privacy of education and research? Do you get excited about helping our institutions answer privacy questions? Do you enjoy organising expert meetings, workshops and other gatherings for our privacy target group? Then this job is made for you!
Where you will work
SURF is the IT cooperative of Dutch education and research institutions. Together with them, we work on digital services and complex innovation issues to enhance the quality of education and research. The institutions have many suppliers that process personal data of staff, teachers, students and researchers on a large scale. As a result, institutions run into privacy issues and there is a strong desire for central support.
You will join the SURF privacy expertise centre, part of the Trust & Security department. There we develop and share knowledge products together with the institutions: from policy documents to practical manuals and best practices. For example, we help institutions with a privacy assessment framework and a benchmark. We also support the application of the AVG and help institutions with privacy issues around new technologies such as AI.
The team you will join
The Security Awareness and Organisation Team is a team of nine people, each with their own thematic responsibility. Your responsibility is thus the theme of Privacy. This team is part of the Trust & Security department and together we are responsible for service delivery, innovation and cooperation in the field of cybersecurity, privacy and IAM. On Mondays, we are always in the office and start the week together with a check-in.
We regularly have a lunch & learn. There, we informally discuss a topic with each other over a sandwich. For instance, it's about community behaviour or hacking IOT devices, and the other day we had a broad update on innovation. Our communities of security and privacy professionals are central to us. That's why we think connecting with each other is important.
