From developing innovative IT-services that make a difference in daily educational practice, to successfully steering the strong growth of the service SURFeduhub. As our new SURFeduhub product manager, you will lead this convincingly in the right direction. In this position, you are key person and co-responsible for the SURFeduhub service. Where you will work

SURF is the IT cooperative of Dutch education and research institutions. Together with them, we work on digital services and complex innovation issues to improve the quality of education and research. Our Education Services department helps educational institutions use technology to future-proof education. We offer services in the fields of digital learning materials, flexible education, educational data exchange and blended learning. As SURFeduhub product manager, you make an important contribution to this.

The team you will join

As SURFeduhub product manager, together with two technical product managers and a flexible layer of developers, you are part of the Flexible Education team. This team develops and provides various services to support educational institutions in, among other things, making (more) flexible the processes surrounding the orientation, registration, tracking and certification of educational programmes.

What you will do

In your role as SURFeduhub Product Manager, together with the Lead Technical Product Manager, you are responsible for the SURFeduhub service. This service enables educational institutions to exchange educational data in a uniform and secure manner, such as course offerings, timetabling and study progress information.
In your role, every day you help all kinds of stakeholders in higher education to make the most of the opportunities offered by technology, innovation and digitisation. You do this at strategic and tactical level. In doing so, you have an eye for both the (international) growth of SURFeduhub and the collaboration and coordination with end users.

What else will you be involved in?

• With SURF's lifecycle and portfolio management process in mind, you step forward to translate ideas and wishes of the target group (teachers, students, ict and education advisors) into services within SURF's education services portfolio;
• You write business models, associated business cases and ensure that exploitations meet all preconditions;
• You work intensively with fellow product managers, technical product managers, project leaders, domain specialists and other stakeholders from a variety of educational institutions;
• You continuously coordinate the roadmap for further development of services and software with customers and end users.

Your skills and experience

You are someone who has a firm grip on the wheel, who accelerates, slows down and steers with conviction towards what we as an organisation stand for. You have a strong character, up-to-date knowledge of IT and education and demonstrable experience with various IT services.
You have and maintain an overview in a complex playing field. You focus on broad internal and external cooperation and are service and customer-oriented in everything. You have the right feeling for political relations and express yourself well both orally and in writing in Dutch and English.

In addition, you have:

• hbo/wo working and thinking level;
• at least 8 years of relevant work experience, preferably at comparable organisations;
• experience with the coordination of software and/or (digital) service development in complex environments;
• experience in providing IT services to a variety of educational institutions and in querying and translating their wishes and needs;
• experience with processes and tools for product management and the Business Model Canvas;
• good command of the Dutch and English language in writing and speaking.

What we offer

If you are there for us for 32-40 hours a week, there may also be something in return.
That is why we offer you:

• A salary range between 5087 - 8428 EUR EUR gross (based on a 40-hour workweek) (wage level);
• 8.33% vacation allowance and a fixed year-end bonus of 8.33%;
• 36 vacation days per year (based on a 40-hour workweek);
• A good pension plan with PNO Media, where you contribute only 1/8 of the premium, and SURF contributes 7/8;
• The possibility to work hybrid. You will receive a home office allowance on your remote working days;
